I've recently engineered some lasers to see which ones I like best. I have 2 class 4 beams and 2 class 4 burst lasers. They're all tuned for efficient and the beams have thermal vent while the burst have overcharged. I prefer the beams so far because they fire continuously and actually cool off my ship while firing. The burst deal good damage but once the shields go down, you would hardly know the difference between it and the beams overall. The main problem is finding something to pair it with. I was thinking rapid fire burst lasers with inertial impact, but the jitter makes it less than worthwhile. Rapid fire overcharged is ok, but I think I'm going to engineer some pulse lasers on the smaller hardpoints just to see which I prefer... Maybe I'll try 2 class 4 pulse lasers to check out the damage on them as well. I want a laser boat so I don't have to reload super often, but the problem lies after enemy shields being broken. I have to find a way to do more damage to hull that doesn't require me to be glued to the bad guy when I'm in my Corvette.

I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a power plant down to 0% and....nothing. There must be more to th is.

Fixed weapons are a great way to miss a lot of shots. Everybody sees that extra damage and thinks "oh yeah that's the stuff" But nobody considers that every time you miss, that effective DPS goes down. And not even just missing, but gimballed weapons will give you a longer range. Arrange that you can't reach with fixed weapons. I mean of course you can, but it makes it significantly more difficult to aim.

You have to stick to the strengths of this ship which is it's speed. With the enhanced thrusters you have to have the ship to be a balance of light and tough at the same time. Takes some tinkering but I've got mine God tier with 720m/s boost with 1k hull. Shields are only 300mj but have 60% thermal and 35% explosive and kinetic. Bear in mind this is with the triple multicannon setup

This test doesn’t take into account your ability to actually target your weapon on fast moving enemies or multiple enemies. Ok If you are a small and fast ship driver, but with larger, less manoeuvrable ships you would never be able to get your guns to bear on the target with fixed!

Before you engineer any ship, one must decied are they going to be up against human's or NPC's with the particular ship they are going to engineer. One can engineer for NPC's a "GOD" ship. But using that same ship envolving human's, will cause you to go to the re-buy screen more often than not. As well as engineering for human's and going up against elite NPC'S, will cause you to go to the re-buy screen, more often than not. Thus the majority of experienced player's will have two engineered differently exact same ship's. Though I've in all of my more than 7,000 hour's spread out over the past 8 to 9 year's. Have on occasion, accidently reloaded into open, It's was only until I came to realize at some point, I was in open and immediately, reloaded into solo. NONE of my ship's have ever been engineered to handle human's, only NPC'S. Once one has deceided on either human or NPC, the next question is the loadout for extremely long range exporing, the shorter planet exploring, combat, mining, all of which cause's one's load out on the same ship to be engineered not to mention size of modual's. Thus there is "NO" perfect loadout for a ship, which mode are you in, which mode are you role playing, are you after money, material's, both. Lot's of deciesion's for a nood. Doing it wrong, can and will cause considerably more "GRINDING" for the various material's, trip's to the tech broker's, and then back to the various engineer's. The "GRIND" is real, embrase it or your end game will come sooner rather than later.

One can utilize semantic's all they desire, but grinding conventional mat's vs guarding mat's is still grinding. The only difference I can determine is the fact that there are considerably more tech broker's than there are engineer's for a particular mod being particually engineered. Regardless of which, one has to grind the mat's, but then using a tech broker rather than having to hop from one engineer to another is by far and away, save's a lot of jumping.

The Diamondback is a brilliant ship to explore the bubble and surrounding areas with. Since each scoop takes a while (and that adds up over time) i prefer the Asp Explorer or a Jump-aconda for very long range expeditions.

For hull damage, I would suggest using Overcharged with Screening shell. You basically get the same DPS as double shot without the added use of your already limited ammo as quickly.

Imagine your apartment is at the bottom of one of those buildings..you’d look down out of your windows into a spinning universe.

So the truth of the matter seems to be rather than Prismatics having awful regeneration rates, it's more that people end up with ridiculous regeneration periods because they stacked a huge number of shield boosters on the prismatic shield. If you put some resistance boosters in there instead it's a lot less insane.

I always loved the FDL until I had one. It is certainly a great ship, but in situations where I could only ever escape just in time with the FDL, I win every battle with the Krait Mk2. In addition, it is also quite useful as an explorer. For me, the switch from the FDL to the Krait Mk2 was definitely worth it.

Thermal Vent beam in the large slot. (short range) Yes. it won't be applied all of the time, but for a large target; it will help cool you down if you're close to help you start applying damage again. I think the power draw should be VERY close to the T2 rail

This seems to be good if Armored power plant doesn't give you enough output, yet you really don't want to make power plant vulnerable - people hitting your power plant can be quite annoying, especially if it malfunctions on damage.
